The Finals of the New York Daily News Golden Gloves, the nation’s largest and most prestigious amateur boxing tournament, return to The Theater at Madison Square Garden on March 29 and 30, 2012. This year marks the 85th annual tournament, which is best known as the launching pad of for many boxing greats such as Mike Tyson, Emile Griffith, Floyd Patterson, Riddick Bowe, Jose Torres, and Danny Jacobs. The Daily News Golden Gloves tournament consists of 10 weeks of elimination bouts held throughout the New York metropolitan area, culminating with the Finals at The Garden.
